Canyonlands

We are back from our last trip to Rifle. On the way, we stopped at Dead Horse Point and Canyonlands National Park. Canyonlands is spectacular, like a lot of southern Utah, but there's not much to do unless you are camping and backpacking. The sign at the entrance says: No water, food, lodging, or gas.
This is Mesa Arch. There is a 500 foot drop off immediately on the other side. The person who took the picture had been up on top of the arch. I climbed up to the side, saw the cliff, and thought, no, not today.

Imagine! A place where gas isn't allowed--How did you sneak Dad in and out without being detected?

They haven't allowed gas since the incident that ended with a dead horse...
