Sadness in Ketchum

We woke up this morning to smoke and thought it may be the hills behind Sun Valley. As we drove through Ketchum we realized it was coming from right in town. If you look at the picture on the left you will notice that it is the Sawtooth Club. The 3 restaurants to the right burned to the ground and the Sawtooth Club has extensive damage and won't be open for several months. At about 5:00 this evening they opened up part of the down town and we were able to watch them still pouring water on it and pulling debris away from the Sawtooth side of the fire.

Ouch! All steaks well-done today...

For those who remember, the Sawtooth Club was the place for such delicacies as Pasta with Sun-dried tomatoes & Pesto, and New-Orleans style Seafood 7 Pasta.

Not to mention the best burger in the West.

A moment of silence, please.

That pretty much stinks.

What were the other restaurants that burned down?

Whiskey Jacques and another place that was something different every year. Whiskey Jacques had been around for a long time.

Oh right! Whiskey Jacques--I remember that place.

I suppose, however, that we should be glad "only" 3 places were damaged, given the side-by-side and wooden nature of all the buildings in Ketchum.

Let's hope that the Sawtooth Club didn't pick AIG for their insurer.
